Volunteers wanted

The Foundation Takecarebnb runs purely on the efforts of volunteers. The Foundation is a diverse group of enthusiastic and passionate people who contribute together to a careful matching between host families and guests. We are always looking for more people who want to contribute from different fields of expertise to the guidance of the matching and further development of the Foundation. Do you want to join our team and help us to connect more families and guests to each other and facilitate that process?

We are always looking for matchmakers, translators, photographers, coordinators, communication talents, and your own great ideas.

Open positions

We are looking for volunteers that through their professional expertise and skills can link refugees with a residence permit and potential host families. We have a detailed matching process based on the specific profiles and needs of both refugees and host families in order to facilitate the best possible match.

In addition, the matchmaker monitors and supervises the refugee and host family throughout guest arrangement. For the facilitating role of “matchmaker” we seek people who have experience in the social work or welfare fields and have affinity with refugees. For example, those who have experience as counselors.

Selection volunteers

Takecarebnb Foundation works with refugees from 21 years and up who are in possession of a residence permit, including refugee children. We see refugees as a vulnerable group in society and want to prevent abuse of refugees and children in any form whatsoever. For this reason, we only work with suitable volunteers and the Foundation uses a Code of Conduct for dealing with this vulnerable group.

The Foundation uses the following terms when hiring volunteers:

  1. All potential volunteers have an individual meeting with at least one board member of the Foundation. In this meeting will be discussed:
    o Motivation of the volunteer to work at Takecarebnb;
    o Relevant work experience of the volunteer;
    o Available time.
  2. All volunteers need a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG);
  3. All volunteers sign, before the start of the voluntary work, the Code of Conduct. For appointing new matchmakers, in addition to the appointing conditions, the Foundation uses additional terms, recruitment policy and criteria and guidelines for an interview.

Selection match makers

Match makers are a special group of volunteers. For appointing new matchmakers, in addition to the appointing conditions, the Foundation uses additional terms, recruitment policy and criteria and guidelines for an interview.

We select matchmakers based on the competencies defined in the matchmaker profile. In addition, together with the intended matchmaker we assess how he/she can meet the required commitment:
  • that you are available at least 4 hours a week for Takecarebnb activities.These hours are completely flexible and can adjust to your own schedule.
  • plan and have approximately one interview per week
  • carry out approximately one matching per week
  • attend approximately one meeting per month

The selection interview will take approximately 1,5 hours:

  • one hour introduction to and explanation of the matching and placement process (link to placement process), mutual expectations, proposed commitment and time commitment.
  • half an hour administrative matters (expenses, voluntary agreement) and orientation period in facilitating processes (Database, Google Drive).
